Production Supervisor

This position functions as the production supervisor. The production supervisor must fully understand the goals and philosophies of the company and be able to apply them to the daily operations. Must be responsible for all the operations on your shift, the daily workflow schedule, quality control, equipment maintenance, training and crew development.   The production supervisor must be able to make clear decisions and carry them out in a quick and professional manner.  In addition to establishing and improving production standards, the role includes working with others in the company to provide the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor
·         Manage shift to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals.
·         Manage the daily production schedule for your shift.
·         Inspect jobs to verify conformance to specifications and direct setups and adjustments of the machines.
·         Must monitor the performance of the crew and make the necessary adjustment to meet or exceed production goals.
·         Insure that the individuals on the production floor are busy with productive work.
·         Oversee all personnel to insure that production is running smoothly and efficiently.
·         Enforce safety regulations.
·         Study production schedules and establish or adjust work procedures to meet deadlines set.
·         Foster a respectful and positive work environment for all employees.
·         Communicate the job vision and expectations to the crew.
·         Assist in developing and administering department operational policies and procedures through regular company and departmental meetings.
·         Assist in developing and implementing immediate and long-range plans for department personnel and equipment.

Customer Service Manager

This creative and technical position is responsible for the conceptual design and creation of images, logos, and printed materials as well as the digital file manipulation. The job involves typesetting at various levels and making changes to materials already created but in need of updating.  This job includes color correction, complete preflight operations, digital proofing, file ripping, and imposition.  Consideration must be given to the customer’s budget, design taste, time, and ultimate use of the product.

• Preflight all digital files to ensure that the files are accurate, complete and ready for imposition.

Continually communicate with the finishing operator on the performance of the current job. Stack books evenly on a pallet/skid. Insert the two skid tags in the shrink-warp of the pallets/skids for shipping. Make sure information is correct on the tags for the skids or mail cages. Tie bundles together straight and even. Watch for jam-ups and miss-feeds on the machine. Efficiently feed the pockets with the printed materials as needed. Move pallets or skids as needed. Inspect product brought to the machine to ensure accuracy. When reading, verify all information on the address is correct and legible. Check finished product for trimmed off type and ensure books are stitched and trimmed straight. Shrink-wrap pallets/skids for shipping. Verify correct information is placed on the pallet, skid or cage tag. Insert skid tags in the shrink-wrap of the pallets/skids for shipping. Ensure information is correct on the tags for the skids or mail cages. Changing strap reel. Keep area around the machines and skids clean of unnecessary items. Follow department operational policies and procedures.
